Welcome to the new year, and what a year it is going to be in Kawara.
But before looking ahead, I want to mention what has just recently happened.
December turned out to be a bit different than what I had anticipated in that instead of joining the celebrations and festivities with the Church in Kawara I stayed in Ouagadougou to help participate with a seminar in a local Church and prepare for my travels to the USA. As it turns out Yacouba also was not in Kawara since he needed to spend this time off of work to go to his village and be with his wife. They had a great time together there so we rejoice with them for this precious time together.
Abraham and those in Kawara spent the midnight service together on the 24th and had a meal together on the 25th. The people are all still recovering from their hard labors of harvesting the abundant crops of 2014. Doing the work by hand is literally back breaking. The joy of having the work done and knowing there are abundant reserves now is a good feeling. Everyone is grateful to the Lord for the rain and the strength to make the crops grow.
So after the celebrations and rest, work starts again. In this month the builder and team will come to Kawara to finish the school building. The supplies are gathered so now to put the hand to the work. Abraham did put a slight delay on the delivery of sand he purchased in December as he wanted to reduce the temptation of theft and kids messing around in the piles of sand out in the open. As things develop all around we are happy to know that a local businessman in nearby Tougan now has more building supplies and the capacity to transport supplies from Ouagadougou. This will be most helpful in our future purchasing and building. The effort and cost of seeking out our own transport for heavy loads has not been easy in the past. Once the building is finished we will endeavor to get the teachers and logistics met for commencing classes.
The Lord goes before and opens the way. It is for us to listen, obey and keep following his lead.
Heading into this years' adventures.
